On February 6th, tens of thousands of people lost their lives and many more have been injured in a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the Turkey (Türkiye) and Syria border. It is one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in 100 years.
Support personnel are on the ground and ready to respond with search & rescue efforts and to provide direct medical intervention. Homes, buildings and essential infrastructure have been destroyed and at-risk populations will need urgent support to access food, shelter, warm clothing and medical supplies (e.g. insulin).
We want to thank the volunteers who participated in the translation of the DEFA resources to the Turkish Language.
