The "15 Rule" is a commonly used guideline for treating hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) in individuals with diabetes. It suggests consuming 15 grams of fast-acting carbohydrate, waiting for 15 minutes, and then rechecking blood glucose levels.

On February 6th, tens of thousands of people lost their lives and many more have been injured in a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the Turkey (Türkiye) and Syria border. It is one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in 100 years.

Support personnel are on the ground and ready to respond with search & rescue efforts and to provide direct medical intervention. Homes, buildings and essential infrastructure have been destroyed and at-risk populations will need urgent support to access food, shelter, warm clothing and medical supplies (e.g. insulin).
