Insulin Therapy - Part 1

Welcome to Part 1 of the Insulin Therapy course series. This is a three part course on all things insulin therapy composed of educational materials and pre/post tests. This course is intended for diabetes educators and those caring for individuals with diabetes.

After completing Part 1 you will be able to identify insulin and identify how to properly store insulin. Understand the importance of taking insulin and how much to take, identify insulin side effects, understand the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia, understand severe hypoglycemia and hypoglycemia unawareness, how to meal plan when taking insulin and define insulin to carb ratio and the effects of protein and fats on blood glucose (blood sugar).
